Granny Smith Festival

The annual Granny Smith Festival celebrates the life and legacy of one of the district's most famous citizens, Maria Ann Smith, whose accidental agricultural innovation is now grown all over the world. Now one of Sydney's largest street festivals, it is a true community carnival full of colour and fun.

TEDx Macquarie University

TEDxMacquarieUniversity is an inspirational high quality independently-run event, which comprises of engaging talks, exciting performers, stimulating action projects, exhibitions and networking. Events held at universities, organized by both students and administration, have shown the benefit of a captivated audience and groups of engaged volunteers poised to make meaningful change. Macquarie University provides quality education for over 37,000 students and is the employer of 1200 academics. It is internationally recognized as ‘Australia’s Innovative University’ and is the centre of knowledge and incubators for great ideas – a perfect match for TEDx events. Since starting in 2011, we have successfully grown approximately 300% annually, forecasting to sell up to 500 tickets this year and reaching online audience of 100,000 viewers.

The Hub Bazaar

This offbeat and lively market attracts vintage lovers, foodies and collectors on the first Tuesday of every month 10am-3pm in the Central Courtyard at Macquarie University.
